Pierre Véry in English

The French writer Pierre Véry (1900-1960) is regarded highly in France as a master of the detective novel. However, Pierre Véry is less well known to English-speaking readers compared with, for example, Georges Simenon whose novels have been available in English translation for some years.

Until now, only one of Pierre Véry's many novels has been available in English ('Le Pays sans Étoiles'. 1945 - 'In What Strange Land? Translator-Jonathan Taylor).

Recently I have translated four other novels of Véry into English.

They are:

Goupi Red Hands.
Goupi Red Hands in Paris.
The Old Ladie's Tea Party.
The Assassination of Santa Claus.

The first two are available now for purchase. The other two (The Old Ladie's Tea Party. & The Assassination of Santa Claus.) will be published by February 2008.
